Scrap the Boys July challenge

Here is a layout for Scrap the Boys July challenge, where the theme is "Real boys don't... ". Actually, we are suppose to scrap pictures of our boys doing girly things, but I can't find any suitable picture of Zareef acting girlish. I guess that our boy is 100% boy and rough and tough as boys can be.. haha..

But I think it's appropriate to scrap stuffs that real boys do too. So here it is, Real Boys are nice to girls. Zareef is most almost nice to girls about his age. He acted all sweet and nice around girls, especially with his buddy Qariena or Nana. But this does not apply to Zara tough. It's all rough and tumble with Zara.. :)

Scrappin Kids July challenge

Scrappin Kids has a interesting challenge this month, which is to capture the moments that are not the most pleasant. I found this picture of Zareef who looked so 'tak puas hati' (unsatisfied) over something. We were outside playing at our lawn. I can't remember exactly why he was so grumpy as he always has that face on him, especially when he didn't get his way. My guess is that he just picked a fight with Zara, we scolded him, and then he went merajuk.. heheh..

This layout is a very simple one, but I like the bright colors, and how it contrast with Zareef's darker mood. I also just love the lion stickers, aren't they cute? It fits the theme, as when he's mad, he sometimes growled like a lion. :) It's been a while since I use lots of thickers and this title really deserved the main attention.. to highlight Zareef's favorite words when he needs our attention.. "Oh Mom, I got big problem here!!!"

Scrap The Girls July Challenge

After 2 weeks of scrapping hiatus, I feel like I lost my 'juice' at first. It took me a while to organize my thoughts and have the creativity flowing again. I know that I want to do this Scrap the girls challenge, which is a color challenge. You have to use the color pallets as below in your layout. Love the colors.. so girly.. :)

I did a layout of this photo of a few days old Zara, which was taken by our friend Amru. The photo is like screaming to be scrapped. Just loved the way she is captured in this photo, so angelic and serene.. Thus, I made this simple layout to capture the precious moment.. newborns are just so adorable, don't you think?

Baby's first love.. Zara's first few days..

Bearybox challenge #28 - SWEET

I just could not resist the interesting sketch from Bearybox challenge #28, that I created a layout from it. I finally managed to use the large flowers I have in my stash (just love flowers!). I love this picture (thanks amru for the nice shot!) of Zareef and Soraya's daughter, Qariena. Zareef is very close with Qariena @ Nana. Everytime they meet, they will hold hands and go everywhere together... hehe.. (romeo sungguh!)

Scrap-It-Lah challenge

I entered this layout for Scrap-It-Lah May challenge, and guess what? I won! This is my first time winning a challenge, and am very happy about it :) I didnt expect to win, and this layout was done using free papers from Scrapbook Magazine! Thanks Scrap-It-Lah for the lovely challenge.

Also, I am honored to be part of their design team! Thank you for the opportunity, ladies. Although I am new at this, I'll try my best to create lovely layouts for you guys, and at the same time promote Scrapbooking to more people in Malaysia!

Check out Scrap-It-Lah June challenge, which you have to interpret a lovely sketch by Jessy, in addition to making your own flowers from patterned papers and buttons. This is the same challenge we had in the crop party @ Scrappingville, where I did a layout about Zara's heart-melting smiles. We need more submission, especially to new talents to reveal themselves. It is also a great solution if you're having an artist-block.. just follow the challenge's instructions!

So, what are you waiting for, Scrap-It-Lah!

World's Best Mama

Here is a layout I did for Scrap-It-Lah May challenge. The challenge is to scrap about your mom, or about being a mother. The only condition is to have some form of journaling. So, it can be a layout or a mini album or anything you can think of. I am still experimenting with different techniques, and here I played around with 3D embellishment. I like how the frame turned out.

I am not good with words, so I adapted a poem from www.poemsource.com by Joanna Fuchs as part of the journaling. Here's how the poem goes...

Mama, you're a wonderful mother,
So gentle, yet so strong.
The many ways you care
Always make me feel I belong.

You're a source of comfort;
You're my cushion when I fall.
You help in times of trouble;
You support me whenever I call.

I love you more than you know;
You have my total respect.
If I had my choice of mothers,
You'd be the one I'd select!

Everyday, I try my best to be
A mother like the mom you were to me.

Scrap-It-Lah

Here is a layout I did for Scrap-It-Lah Sketch#1 challenge. It is an online sketch where scrappies submit their layout and the winner get scrappy goodies, or RAKS (not sure what RAKS means, I forgot). Did not hope to win, I did this layout for fun. I like the sketch.. and I have this Valentine kit available that is perfect for the challenge.

Two hearts that beat as one.. our honeymoon pics at Langkawi, more than 5 years ago! :))
